  • September – December 2013: n. 10 concerts organized by Associazione Mozart Italia;
  • June 15, 2013: debuted the role of Gilda in Rigoletto, directed by Umberto Finazzi and Laura Cosso, Teatro Politeama, Saluzzo, Italy;
  • May-June 2013: debuted the role of Desdemona in the American premiere opera Jago by Carlo Pedini, International Opera Theater of Philadelphia, (PA, United States);
  • February 2013: won the first prize of the International singing competition O.M.E.G.A. in Florence;
  • January 2013: won prize “Inner Wheel” Foggia for the best execution of Verdi’s arias at the 15th International Singing Competition “Umberto Giordano” in Lucera (Foggia, Italy);
  • November 2012: won the first prize of the 2nd International Singing Competition “Magda Olivero” in Saluzzo (Cuneo, Italy);
  • November 2012: debuted the role of Liu in the opera Turandot in theater Don Giovanni Bosco in Bergamo, Italy;
  • October 2012: won the first prize in the 2nd International Singing Competition “Franca Mattiuci” in Canelli (Asti, Italy).
 
Sharon Zhai, China born Australian soprano, is rapidly gaining recognition for the sumptuous color and effortless, scintillating power of her exquisite singing. She holds a Bachelor of Opera Performance degree from the China’s Conservatory of Music in Beijing China where she was awarded a few times scholarship for gaining the top result of study. She also has a Master of Opera Performance degree from the Sydney Conservatory of Music in Australia.
Sharon won the 2004 Mietta Song Recital Award in Melbourne (Australia), collected a plethora of prizes that included not only the Mietta travel scholarship, the O’Donnell Family Prizes, but also awards for language tuition both in Australia and abroad contributed by the Goethe Institut, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura, Alliance Francaise and the Tait Memorial Trust.
The judges’ decision was supported by the Audience Prize, which also went to Zhai. She has been featured in numerous recitals and concerts across Australia, Asia and Europe. In 2009, she was part of the Macau International Music Festival, where she performed Mozart's Regina Coeli KV127 with the Macau Orchestra and the ARS NOVA Vocal Ensemble from Hungary.
In the production of Puccini's Il Trittico in the festival, covered the role Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi and staged the role of The Lover in Il Tabarro.
Her performances have been broadcasted by ABC Classic FM and 3MBS Australia. She has performed regularly with Pacific Opera, and her latest media release with them was a live broadcast on 2MBS-FM Sydney as a featured Pacific Opera artist. The operatic roles Sharon has performed include The Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflote di Mozart, Madam Silberklang in Der Schauspieldirektor, Lizzie in Coffee Cantata di Bach, Celia in La Fedeltà Premiata di Haydn, Dido in Dido and Aeneas di Henry Purcel.
Sharon has attended many international master classes and worked with masters including: John Sutherland, Richard Bonynge, Bonoldo Yaiodi, Marget Baker Genovesi, Stephen Delaney, David Wakeham, Nico and Carol Castel, Joan Dornemann, Dennis Neil, Ned Canty, Karen Shepherd, Leone Magiera.
